Berlin- Genk Haraguchi has extended his contract in Berlin with Hertha BSC and moved out on loan to Fortuna Düsseldorf. The Japanese international will spend the rest of this season with the Bundesliga 2 club. “We have found the best solution for all parties. Genki will get game time with a team pushing for promotion to the Bundesliga and we will have all options available to us after this summer’s world cup,” said Michael Preetz. Düsseldorf currently lead Bundesliga 2 after 18 games.
Haraguchi moved to Berlin from Japanese side Urawa Red Diamonds, The right-footer has since made 106 appearances in Blue and White, scoring six goals and getting ten assists. So far this season Haraguchi has played seven Bundesliga games and had one important assist – the opening goal against Bayern, where the Japanese star weaved his way through several Bayern players before crossing for Ondrej Duda. The winger has also appeared in the DFB Pokal and three Europa League games since August. Haraguchi has represented his native Japan 29 times, scoring six goals in the process.
