The draw has been made! On Friday evening’s draw following Germany’s friendly against Saudi Arabia it was decided that Hertha’s 2018/19 DFB Pokal journey would start in Braunschweig. "Braunschweig is an exciting draw and we’re looking forward to a tie against a club rich in tradition. We know of their abilities, but our aim is the second round," said managing director Michael Preetz on the draw.
The 32 first round fixtures will take place between the 17th and 20th August – the exact dates and kick-off times will be released by the DFB ten to twelve days after the draw. Prior to the draw, it was fixed that Hertha, as a Bundesliga club, would play the first game away from home.
