"We have a chance going to Wolfsburg"

Lukas Klünter and Maximilian Mittelstädt were disappointed after the match against Leipzig but continue to believe in the strength of the team.

Plenty of chances and a good tactical performance against a top team – but still nothing to show for it in the end. “We are really disappointed not to have got anything because we stuck to the gameplan throughout,” said Lukas Klünter. "We were able to keep with them and we had chances, but unfortunately we just didn’t take them. Everyone knows that we urgently need points.” herthabsc.de collects the pick of the match reaction.
Maximilian Mittelstädt: We started the game well and put our plan into action well, especially in the first half. Leipzig didn’t know how to break through. We were more secure at the back and also had some nice attacks going forward, but we failed to take our chances again and then instead we conceded an absolute screamer to go behind. The goal against us was similar to how things have gone in recent weeks. In the second half we weren’t able to put as much pressure on as we would’ve liked but we still had chances. In the end, the second goal was unnecessary and it broke our spirit a bit. After that it’s always going to be more difficult against a team like Leipzig, obviously. There’s nothing else to say really. We can defend well and play good football but if we don’t score then we can’t be successful. It’s not like we just found out yesterday where we stand. We have to get points as quickly as possible and put in some good work in training this week.
Lukas Klünter: We are really disappointed not to have got anything today because we stuck to the gameplan action well throughout. We kept with them well and had chances that we unfortunately didn’t take. Things will not get any easier but we’ve seen at times that we can mix it with teams like this if we prepare well. We have a chance going to Wolfsburg but then we also have to score goals in matches like this. Once we get the ball rolling, hopefully we will be able to pick up points more regularly. We have quality in the squad and in our depth, but everybody knows that we urgently need points. We have to play every game as if it is our last.
