The 2020 calendar is at an end. In terms of football, it has been a year like no other, a point which was acknowledged by Michael Preetz and head coach Bruno Labbadia on Wednesday (30/12/20) at their pre-match press conference ahead of the game at home to Schalke 04. "On the one hand, Schalke haven’t had many good games and that is reflected in their position in the table. On the other hand, their players do have good individual quality,” said Labbadia of Hertha’s Ruhr Valley opponents. The matchday 14 fixture is scheduled for Saturday evening (02/01/21, 18:30 CET) in the capital. The visitors will head to Berlin under the guidance of a new head coach. “Christian Gross is a really experienced coach who will change a few things, that’s for sure. We have to focus even more on our own game, but I prefer to do that anyway,” said the Hertha boss. Sitting alongside Labbadia, Preetz spoke about the short winter break and the intense month that lies ahead. “We have to take this situation on and make a good start to the New Year. We desperately want to improve our points tally!”
