Berlin – In the last two years, Hertha decided to stay in Germany for their winter training camp, but this January they will go further a field: the side from the capital will prepare for the second half of 2019/20 in Orlando from 2nd to 11th January. The ‘Old Lady’ will face fellow Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt on 9th January in the state capital of Florida. The game will take place in the Al Lang Stadium in Saint Petersburg – the kick-off time is yet to be determined. The meeting between the German sides will act as the opening game of the Florida Cup. Brazilian sides Corinthians and Palmeiras, as well as Nacional Medellin from Columbia will enter the tournament later on.
Hertha already visited the US in May. As part of the #TearDownWallsTour, the Blue-Whites visited Minneapolis, Madison, Chicago and Los Angeles, playing two friendlies, visiting schools, clubs and undertaking a number of cultural experiences. Hertha BSC are once again representing German football on an international level almost exactly 30 years after the fall of the Berlin wall. The #TearDownWallsTour was just one of many things that Hertha have done to help to encourage a free, tolerant, diverse and open-minded Berlin.
