"When it rains, it pours!"

Vedad Ibisevic, Javairo Dilrosun, Dodi Lukébakio, Maximilian Mittelstädt and Co. enjoyed the feeling of a well-deserved victory over Fortuna Dusseldorf. We collected their reactions after the 3-1 win.

We played well, brought it back from a goal down, and in the end got a convincing 3-1 win. The mood amongst the Herthaner was of course fantastic after the home win against Fortuna Dusseldorf on Friday night (04/10/19). After all, it was the third triumph in a row. "When it rains, it pours, and it's up to you to take advantage of these stages in the season," said Vedad Ibisevic, who got the equaliser. "With the two victories still in our minds, we kept on going, because we knew we were better than them and luckily we proved that in the end."

Vedad Ibišević: The victory was very important in order to continue the run that we’re on. When it rains, it pours - these types of situations must be exploited. With the two victories still in our minds, we kept on going, because we knew we were better than them and luckily we proved that in the end. We have good guys out on the wings - left and right. They played really well and I did what I could up front.

Javairo Dilrosun: That was not my best game, but we won and I scored a goal. I could have scored even more, but my left foot wasn’t working today, that’s why I had to use my right to score. Usually, the ball never goes in, but it just is at the minute. The victory is the most important thing anyway. We have won three games in a row now, that's a good run. After the international break, we want to win the fourth in a row too. This 'Mr. September' thing is over for me now: I would like to score and assist every month, in every game I can.

Dodi Lukébakio: I wanted to help my team, it worked quite well and feels good. Ante Covic helps me to improve step by step here. For me, the beginning was not easy, I came at the end of the pre-season, but I feel like I’m getting better and I’m putting in the work. The coach decides who plays, we have a lot of good players. But for now let’s just enjoy the three points!

Maximilian Mittelstädt: I think we’re getting that bit of luck at the moment, which was missing at the beginning of the season. That certainly applies to my tackle on Baker. Nevertheless, we played well, were strong throughout the game, and we gave Düsseldorf very little to go on. We also created a lot of chances, especially on the counter and we were still compact at the back. That's why we deserved to win. We are in a good mood and of course we would like to carry on playing, but the international break will be good for us so we can ground ourselves, because there are more hard weeks ahead of us.

Niklas Stark: Of course we had expected from ourselvesmore in the first games, so it feels all the better to be back on track. The guys played great and won the ball back in good areas so I was able to focus on covering players at the back. Especially in the first half we pressed them really well and won the ball back a lot - that's what you need to beat Düsseldorf. The penalty was unlucky, but it was only a matter of time before we took the lead. In the international break, the team can breathe a little, then we want to continue our current run. Before that, I hope and am confident that I can make my first international match.

Rune Jarstein: It was a good game from our point of view. After the break, we showed great character – we’re getting better every match. The three points were important to us, but now I am also looking forward to the internationals.

Dedryck Boyata: It was a great victory. It was very important to us and to our self-confidence! Now we can go into the international break with a light heart and raised heads. We acted confident and defended aggressively – we’re playing really well. We worked hard to get into that position so we are happy. It's a pity I missed my second goal - but maybe it will happen next time.
