Saturday afternoon didn’t go as planned for Hertha and Bruno Labbadia as they lost 4-1 to Eintracht Frankfurt, despite being 1-0 up at half time. Derrick Boayat was sent on in added time at the end of the first half. “We conceded too many goals too easily and weren’t compact enough defensively,” said Vladimir Darida after the game. We collected all the post-match reaction.
Krzysztof Piatek: We found it really difficult after the red card. We had to play an entire half a man down and we basically had to just sit back and defend. We played really well in first half and we created so many chances, but after the break we had to do all the running. We have to stay positive and do better in Freiburg.
Vladimir Darida: We conceded too many goals too easily and weren’t compact enough defensively. We have to do better. The red card was difficult to deal with but even as ten men we could have defended better, but unfortunately we didn’t do that. We actually played really well until the red card but after that, the defensive lines weren’t close enough together and Frankfurt used the space in behind well to get their goals. We go again on Tuesday in Freiburg, and we have to learn from our mistakes today. We’ll put 100% in to win against them, I can promise you that.
