Berlin – The Czech Republic had already secured their spot at next summer’s European Championship before heading into their final group stage match against Bulgaria. Despite falling to a 1-0 defeat, the Czechs and Vladimir Darida (who played the full 90 minutes on Sunday evening in Sofia), will not be too troubled with what was ultimately a meaningless loss. Head coach Jaroslav Silhavy’s side topped Group A with 15 points from eight qualifying matches.
Jarstein, Albrecht and Samardzic all in action
Rune Jarstein and Norway are still fighting for a spot at EURO 2020. However, their final group stage match on Monday night (18.11.19 at 20:45 CET) in Malta will not change their current situation. Norway are currently four points off second place, and even a win tonight will not be enough to automatically qualify for next summer’s tournament. Instead, Norway will have to look towards the playoffs in March 2020, which they qualified for by virtue of winning their UEFA Nations League group. Germany’s U19s are also in action on Monday night, with both Julian Albrecht and Lazar Samardzic set to face hosts Northern Ireland in the Four Nations Tournament (20:30 CET).
