Peter Pekarik and Ondrej Duda have both been called up for Slovakia’s UEFA Nations League game against the Czech Republic (13/10/18 15:00 CEST). However, the internationals come too soon for Vladimir Darida, who has only just returned to first-team training and therefore withdrew from the Czech’s squad. “I'm glad that Vladi made the decision to withdraw. It will take him some time to get back in to the swing of things and it is better for him to train in Berlin,” said Pál Dárdai. Both Slovakia and the Czech Republic lost their opening matches against Ukraine. Three days later, the Slovaks will play a friendly against Sweden (16/10/18 20:45 CEST). Mathew Leckie will travel to Dubai, where the Australia national team will be training. They play Kuwait on October 15th.
Berliners have to win
Rune Jarstein and Norway will also be present in the Nations League as the ‘Vikings’, who recently beat Cyprus and lost to Bulgaria, face Slovenia (13/10/18 18:00 CEST) and the Bulgarians again (16/10/18 20:45 CEST). Austria and Valentino Lazaro will be going for the three points. The Hertha player and his team-mates will face Northern Ireland (12/10/18 20:45 CEST) in Vienna and then play Denmark in a friendly (16/10/18 20:45 CEST).
The Germany U21s are only one win away from qualifying for the 2019 U21 UEFA Euros in Italy. Arne Maier and Maximilian Mittelstädt have been called up to the squad which will play against Norway (12/10/18 20:00 CEST) in Ingolstadt. Their following game is against Ireland (16/10/18 18:30 CEST) in Hoffenheim. Jordan Torunarigha misses out through injury.
Friendlies for Baak and Dárdai
Palko Dárdai and Florian Baak both have two friendlies coming up. The Germany U20s will face the Netherlands (12/10/18 17:30 CEST) and Switzerland (16/10/18 16:00 CEST). Dennis Jastrzembski has been called up the Germany U19 team for the first time and will train with the team.
