Berlin – Hertha BSC have added another youth team string to the first team bow: Dennis Jastrzembski will be from this summer be the first member of Hertha’s first team squad to be born in the 21st century. “We’re delighted that we have been able to add another talented youth team player in Dennis to our squad,” said Hertha’s sporting director, Michael Preetz.
The fleet-footed Germany youth international was part of the Germany youth set-up alongside his Hertha teammates Jessic Ngankam and Luis Klatte at the U17 European Championships in Croatia and took part in the U17s World Cup in India. Dennis is capable of playing in various positions in attack. “It wasn’t a tough decision for me to make when you can see the progress some of the other academy players have made. I’m so happy to have signed my first professional contract and will be working hard to make the next step here at Hertha BSC”, said Jastrzembski.
Currently, the Hertha U19s player is on the hunt for goals and has played his part in Michael Hartmann’s side being at the top end of the table in the Bundesliga U19s table. This season, Dennis has four goals and eight assists to his name. His team are currently one point behind Hamburger SV who top the table.
