Pascal Köpke moves to 1. FC Nürnberg

The attacker leaves Hertha BSC after two years and returns to the club where he played at youth level.

Berlin – After two years with the ‘Old Lady’, Pascal Köpke has left the club with immediate effect to join 1. FC Nürnberg. The 24-year-old moved to Berlin in the summer of 2018 and made a total of eleven appearances for the club in the Bundesliga, as well as two appearances (1 goal) in the DFB-Pokal. “Even though Pascal didn’t make many appearances in his two years with us, he’s given 100% every day and made good progress in his development. We wish him success at his new club, where he’ll forge his own path,” says Michael Preetz.
“My aim was to further develop at Hertha and to make the next step in my career here. In the end, I only made eleven appearances in the Bundesliga, but both in terms of my personal and physical development, the two years in Berlin have been good and important for me. I’ve got to know great people here and I’ll take lots of positive memories with me,” says Köpke, who will continue his career at the second-division side, where he was in the youth setup between 2011 and 2013.
