Löwen joins Augsburg on loan

Hertha BSC send Eduard Löwen on loan to FC Augsburg until Summer 2021. The deal does in include an option to buy.

Eduard Löwen leaves Hertha BSC, for the foreseeable future at least. The midfielder has joined FC Augsburg on loan after passing a medical with the Bavarian club. The 22-year-old will remain on loan until the end of the 2020/21 season, after which Augsburg have the option to sign him on a permanent basis. “Eduard came to us with a change of scenery in mind. But, in his first six months with us, it hasn’t gone quite as and we would have hoped. That’s why we agreed to this transfer”, Michael Preetz explained on Monday (06/01/20).

Löwen had already said goodbye to his teammates the day before, and returned to Germany. He joined the capital club from 1. FC Nürnberg before the season, and has gone on to make seven Bundesliga appearances with the ‘Old Lady’. He will now pitch his tent in Bavaria, alongside ex-hertha player Julian Schieber.
