Berlin – After the DFL’s announcement on Friday morning that Bundesliga Matchday 26 would still take place, the DFL have now confirmed the complete postponement of this weekend’s fixtures, including Hertha’s trip to face TSG Hoffenheim on Saturday.
The Hertha players were informed of the news during their trip to the airport, and have now returned home. “Even though the decision was made at such short notice, it is understandable. Assuming that the league sticks with this decision after the general meeting on Monday, we now have a few weeks to monitor the development of the virus and assess the situation as it comes,” said sporting director Michael Preetz. The squad will continue training as planned, but the training complex will be closed to the public until further notice.
Prior to the general meeting of all Bundesliga clubs on Monday, the DFL has decided to suspend the competition up until 2nd April 2020.
