Palko Dárdai has joined Hungarian first division club MOL Fehérvár FC with immediate effect. The club play home games around 60 kilometres from the capital Budapest and currently sit in 12th position in the league. “Palko was part of the Hertha family for almost 10 years and took his first steps in professional football with us. We wish him all the best for his further development and future in his other homeland,” said Hertha BSC’s managing director Michael Preetz on the transfer.
The 21-year-old is the son of Hertha’s record appearance maker and former head coach Pál Dárdai and joined the capital city club aged twelve. The youngster played at all levels of the youth academy at Hertha before signing a professional contract with the ‘Old Lady’. The Berlin-born player made a total of nine Bundesliga appearances in blue and white, playing a further two games in the UEFA Europa League and once in the DFB-Pokal.
