"Get used to things as quickly as possible!"

January signing Krzysztof Piątek speaks at a press conference about his first few days at Hertha BSC, the differences between the Serie A and the Bundesliga and a possible starting debut in the DFB-Pokal game at Schalke.

Krzysztof Piątek on…

... integrating with the team: I’ve only been here a few days, but I would obviously like to get to know all my teammates and get used to our tactics and systems as quickly as possible. My task now is to internalise the style of play and all the procedures. I am confident that we can then go on to achieve great things together and compete in Europe as well!

... speaking to his teammates about the Bundesliga ahead of his transfer: I didn’t speak to any Germans about it, but I spoke to players at AC Milan who used to play in Germany. Hakan Calhanoglu and Ricardo Rodriguez had only positive things to say about the Bundesliga. I am very happy to be here now!

"I think I started really well in my first game. I'm now highly motivated to help the team from start to finish "

... differences between the Serie A and the Bundesliga: Having played just 30 minutes, it’s difficult to say what the differences between the leagues are. I did notice that I have a bit more room going forward here, while Italy is defined more by tactic. I hope I can utilise that space and score lots of goals.

... his time with Zlatan Ibrahimovic: I only played and trained with Zlatan for two weeks in Milan. It’s hard to get a real impression in such a short space of time. He’s obviously a fantastic player. When you’re training with someone like that, you always want to show him that you can also play (grins). It was a good experience, but now I’m here and concentrating 100 percent on Hertha BSC!

... his compatriot, Robert Lewandowski: He’s the best forward in Germany and he’s among the best strikers in the world. When we’re with the national team, I always try to learn something from him at training and talk to him. I want to get better and better!

... his motivation ahead of a potential starting debut: I am prepared and in good form, because I was training and playing in Milan. I think I started my first game well – now I’m at 100 percent and highly motivated to help the team from start to finish!
