Berlin – Over the next few weeks, the Blue-Whites will be putting in the work ahead of the upcoming season. In order to lay the groundwork for the next months, the team will be taking part in a strenuous preseason. While the days are long gone in which players didn’t touch the ball at all during preseason, the team can expect to work hard over the coming weeks.
Pre-season got underway on 27th July, with Hertha’s first competitive game of the season set to take place in mid-September (11th-14th) in the DFB-Pokal first round against Eintracht Braunschweig. Following two rounds of Covid-19 tests in the past days, the team took part in various fitness tests to start the week. The players were split into different groups, as new signing Lucas Tousart and his teammates took part in fitness and mobility testing under the watchful eye of fitness coaches Günter Kern, Henrik Kuchno and Hendrik Vieth.
On the training ground on Tuesday
Head coach Bruno Labbadia also kept a close watch over the proceedings. Labbadia will welcome back his side with a training session on the Schenckendorffplatz on Tuesday (28/07/20), where the hard work will continue.
