Berlin – Hertha BSC have loaned Maximilian Pronichev to Erzgebirge Aue. The 20-year-old striker, who signed a professional contract with the Blue-Whites in June, will play for the second-division side during the 2018/19 campaign. “Maxim is an exciting talent - we believe in his potential, which he showed in the U23s and at the training camp,” said director of sport Michael Preetz on Friday (27.07.18). “Now, Maxim can take the next step and get game time at the second-highest level of German football and continue to develop.”
Born in Berlin with Russian roots, he played for a number of Hertha academy teams before transferring to Zenit St. Petersburg’s U16s as a 16 year old. After being loaned to Schalke 04’s second team, the 20 year old made the move back to Berlin last summer. Under coach Ante Coric in the U23s, Pronichev scored 15 goals in 19 appearances in the Regionalliga Nordost.
