Dennis Smarsch will also be standing between the posts in the upcoming years for the Blue-Whites. The 19-year-old goalkeeper and Hertha BSC agreed a long-term deal on Monday night. “Dennis has consistently continued to develop over the past few years and has proved himself as a pillar of our youth teams. He has also shown that he is a great talent when training with the first team and that is what we now want to further encourage,” said Michael Preetz. Smarsch has been with Hertha BSC as a goalkeeper since 2010.
Smarsch has already trained with Pál Dárdai as a 17-year-old. He was named in the squad twice last season, once away at Bremen and also in the home match against Augsburg. He celebrated his greatest success with the Germany national team, winning the U19 championship.
