Tuesday afternoon saw 22 players met by hoards of children who had swapped school for Hertha training during the Easter holidays. But under the Berlin sunshine, the Blue-Whites were more than happy to take selfies and sign autographs for the young fans, who then got to watch a 90-minute session for Pál Dárdai’s boys. Preparations for matchday 29 kicked off with the obligatory futsal tournament on the small pitch, building up to a trip to Borussia-Park to take on Gladbach on Saturday afternoon.
Training on Tuesday
Lazaro close to returning
Valentino Lazaro remained absent from Tuesday’s session due to a cold that also kept him out of Saturday night’s home draw with Wolfsburg. “Things are looking up for Tino,” said Dárdai, with the coach hoping to have him back on board on Wednesday or Thursday. Jonathan Klinsmann is also still struggling with a shoulder injury, while Palko Dárdai, Florian Baak and Julius Kade are training with the U19s this week.
The Hertha boys will train twice on Wednesday, before working behind closed doors on Thursday and Friday as the game against the Foals draws closer.
