Time for a trip over the pond!

On Thursday (02.01.20), the Herthaner will head to Orlando, Florida, where Jürgen Klinsmann’s side will take part in a training camp until 10th January.

Berlin – For many footballers, the Christmas break is a time for travel. The same is true for a few Herthaner, who were out and about during the last few days. From trips back home, excursions to the city or short stays in tropical locations, the Blue-Whites are taking full advantage of the time between the final match of 2019 against Borussia Mönchengladbach and the start of training last Sunday (02.01.20). After three intense days of training, the Herthaner are flying off to Orlando. “We started a few days earlier in order to get a full overview of the squad,” head coach Jürgen Klinsmann said, while also giving a few insights into the upcoming training camp in the United States. “Every day, we’re working on becoming more in tune with one another on the pitch so that the players are well used to each other,” Klinsmann said. “We want to take our game to the next level, as I’ve said before. That’s what we’re working on, step by step.”

The Herthaner will train twice a day during training camp in Orlando, and will be staying at the Hotel Omni Orlando Resort. Klinsmann will be without goalkeeper Thomas Kraft (illness), and will be replaced by Luis Klatte, who had previously taken part in the summer training camp. Both Rune Jarstein, who only returned to training on Wednesday due to illness, and Daishawn Redan are fully fit once again and will join the team on the trip to Orlando. As previously reported, Salomon Kalou will be absent from the trip.

Friendly against Frankfurt

Hertha will face fellow Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt on 8th January at 19:00 local time (09.01.20, 01:00 CET) in the Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg. The Blue-Whites will kick-off the second half of the season on 19th January (15:30 CET) against defending champions FC Bayern München at home in the Olympiastadion.
