Putting in the hard graft

Hertha BSC began preparation for their last away game of the season against Augsburg. Alongside Mathew Leckie, several players had to sit out first team training.

The final training sessions of the season are coming to an end. There are now only nine training sessions left at the training grounds until the last game of the season against Bayer 04 Leverkusen. However, before their game against Leverkusen, Hertha will first face FC Augsburg down south on Saturday (11/05/19, 15:30 CEST). “There are six more points that we want this season. The first come in Augsburg,” said Ondrej Duda.

The Hertha number 10 emphasized that the atmosphere in the changing rooms is on the up following the important victory against VfB Stuttgart. “After seven games without a win, the three points were extremely important for us, the morale and the motivation,” Duda explained, after he scored his eleventh goal of the season in the 3-1 victory.

Trio train individually

Another goal-scorer against Stuttgart was Salomon Kalou. The Ivorian however, did not partake in full training and instead trained individually, along with Maximilian Mittelstädt and Rune Jarstein. However, Thomas Kraft did return to full training after recovering from a neck problem. Mathew Leckie has been ruled out for the rest of the season and joins Marius Gersbeck, Arne Maier, Palko Dárdai, Niklas Stark and Vladimir Darida on the sidelines.

Salomon Kalou should rejoin full training on Wednesday, where Pál Dárdai has two training sessions (10:00 and 15:00 CEST). Hertha will travel to Bavaria after final training on Friday and will hope to get their fifth away victory of the season.
